I have found and lost my identity in relationships, in the opinions of others and in times of self-reflection. While experiences and convictions can form a person’s character, when each experience is examined, perspectives and emotions are subject to influence the impact of these memories. The animation “identity” shows the struggle to take hold of one’s sense of self in the midst of instability and ever-changing circumstances. It is based on a poem entitled “identity” that documents my experience with imposter syndrome. The poem inspired conceptual sketches, which then led to the development of the story board, backgrounds, concept art and animation.
